Auction Includes Town of Garryowen, Montana plus a Document Collection

Battle of the Little Bighorn began and the American Iconic General Armstrong 
Custer met his demise.  The auction firm best known for selling the "Smallest 
Town in America" to a Vietnamese businessman will conduct the live global

    The Garryowen auction offers a rare opportunity to buy a 
historically-significant and income-producing town in the United States that 
features the "Town Hall," a 15,400+/- sf three-level building containing a 
convenience store, sandwich shop, retail space, U.S. Post Office and penthouse 
residence. A second building is a two-level 2,900+/- sf structure containing 
office space and guest suites. The 7.7+/- acre site is located within the 
perimeter of the Little Bighorn Battlefield where General Custer's 7th Cavalry 
met defeat by the combined forces of the Lakota and Cheyenne people.  

    Also selling as a separate parcel is a historic document collection of 
General Custer's wife, Elizabeth Bacon Custer. The collection is an archive of 
thousands of hand-written letters, documents, manuscripts, newspapers and 
stereoviews that presents a one-of-a kind, first-person account of American 
Western expansion and the bigger than life personalities that shaped it. This 
rare collection has never been scanned, copied, catalogued and lies in wait to 
be truly discovered.  
 
    The town of Garryowen is one of several attractive properties being
