American Apparel Presents at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in Tokyo
TOKYO, Sept. 14, 2012/PRNewswire-AsiaNet/ --

American Apparel, the vertically integrated clothing manufacturer based in
downtown Los Angeles, is announcing its participation in Mercedes-Benz Fashion
Week TOKYO 2013 S/S.

American Apparel's participation celebrates the brand's seventh anniversary
in Japan. The event will take place at Shibuya Hikarie, the official venue of
Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week TOKYO 2013 S/S.

"We wanted to do something new this year and Tokyo is a city that is very
open-minded to new, creative ideas, particularly when it comes to fashion. We
are honored to be one of the first brands without an appointed designer to show
at a high-profile Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week like this," said Katherine
Johnson, American Apparel's Japan operations manager.

On the eve of its seventh year of operations in Japan, the American Apparel
brand is resurgent. The company now has four stores, a popular online and
mobile store as well as an e-commerce platform with Amazon JP. Sales for the
company are up 50% over 2011.

"Japan is an exciting market for us right now and we have a recent track
record of successful collaborations. We're continuing to try new things to
expand the brand and Fashion Week is the perfect place to do that," Johnson
said.

Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week TOKYO 2013 S/S takes place on Monday, October 15
and begins at 20:30 JST, with the company's presentation taking place at 22:00.
Other sponsors of the show include Maybelline New York and TONI&GUY. American
Apparel's anniversary party is produced by ageHa. Catering will be provided by
Arms Burger and Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream.
